whats wrong with my sweet william - Knowledgebase Question

i thought sweet william was a bush-y plant. mine has grown tall and is now trning brown. it had few blooms. what did i do wrong? thank you

Sweet william is usually a low mounding plant. If yours is growing tall it may be reaching for the sunshine. If it is getting more shade than sun, you may want to move it to a sunnier spot. If you prune off the spent flowers by shearing the plant back to 3-4" tall, it will respond by developing more flowers. I'd do this now to reduce the size of the plant and to encourage more flowers.
