I planted my annuals the second week of May, they are not thriving yet but most of them are doing well; all but the petunias that is. Do you know why?

Petunias really thrive in hot weather so they may be sulking because the soil is cold, or because they were just recently transplanted. Give them a little more time to adjust and for the weather to be consistently warm (at night as well as during the day). I think they will perk up if you give them a little more time. Enjoy your garden!
