When is the best time to prune Exburys? Do they benefit from annual pruning or just to shape? Thanks.

Azalea pruning is generally done in early summer, immediately after the flowers fade. This allows the plant time to produce new flower buds over the summer months for the following spring's flower display. An annual pruning will keep your shrubs full and compact, and will encourage lots of flowering. It isn't necessary to prune but if you don't, the branches will become sparse and your shrub will become leggy over the years. Best wishes with your azaleas!
