Hi, I recently bought some hybrid tea roses. I found them to be beautiful when I saw their blossoms. However, when I took them home they don't blossom the same. Instead when they blossom, they only last for a day. Then the edges of the petals start to become crinkly. Is there something wrong with my plant? What can I do to help?

What you describe sounds like a problem with excessive humidity. The rose petals turn brown at the outer edges and the browning works its way toward the center of the flower. If you water the plant instead of the soil, it can be more pronounced. Some roses are more susceptible than others. Controlling this problem is not easily done unless it is caused by over-the-top watering, in which case your method of watering should be changed. The plants susceptible to this will usually overcome the problem later in the season when humidity is lower. Let's hope that's soon so you can enjoy your beautiful roses!
