Petunias were planted and are now getting holes in the flowers. Have not seen insects, worms, or catepillars. What can be done to rid the pest or keep the flowers in one piece? |
If you don't see the culprits, they are probably earwigs or snails. Earwigs can be trapped by setting dampened rolled up newspapers in the garden. Earwigs will crawl in to hide and you can simply fold up the open ends of the newspaper tubes in the morning and throw them in the trash. Repeat every evening. Snails can be controlled with an iron based bait such as Sluggo. Good luck with your petunias! |
