I'm thinking about planting different types of rose plants in my front island bed. Now, can i get any perennial rose seeds for different colors of rose plants(just like we get for marigolds) or do i have to only buy the bare-root or rose plants directly?

You'll need to purchase plants rather than try to grow from seeds. Most roses are grafted onto rootstocks and each will be named and grow true to color year after year. Bareroot roses are the least expensive way of purchasing roses and these are usually available in late winter (Jan - Feb) for planting while they are still dormant. Choose your favorite colors and enjoy!
