I noticed my snow bushes seem to attract what looks like small black butterflies. What can I do to prevent them from stripping the bushes of their leaves?

If you see small black butterflies (or moths), they are not feeding on the leaves but their offspring probably are. The larvae feed on leaves - the adults drink nectar from the flowers. While there are products on the market to control the larvae, if you kill the larvae, you'll kill off the next generation of moths or butterflies.
