|I have about a 15 foot area in front of my privacy fence that I want to plant some type of columnar upright evergreen trees so I can cancel out my rotten neighbors the rest of the way. I'm in So. Iowa and this area is partially shady to very shady. They need to get atleast10-12 feet tall. Thank-You

|Shady spots are really difficult for shrubs but you may have good luck with Pieris or Yew. Or, you might want to grow an evergreen vine. You'll need to erect trellises, though, or allow them to scramble up your fence. Best wishes with your landscape!
