Watering deeply 3 days a week should be fine for your lawn. The key is to water deeply so the roots will grow deep. Once they do, they will be less likely to suffer from droughty conditions. Turn your sprinklers on for 15 minutes and then turn them off; allow the water to soak in (about 15-30 minutes) then turn the sprinklers on for another 15-30 minutes. This should soak the soil deeply enough to encourage deep root growth. Good luck with your lawn!
