We have a Fuchsia which is appears to be thinning out a little and also has brown spots/patches on the leaves. Currently in a hanging basket in door/porchway outside -- mostly in full sun, Florida heat. What could be wrong... a disease, over/underwatering ???

Reddish or brownish color on the leaves can indicate sunburn, or a mineral deficiency. Fuchsia's appreciate shady conditions, lots of water, and regular feeding. Since your plant is in a container, you can provide a continuous feed by using a half-strength dilution of liquid fertilzer and apply every 2-3 weeks. As for the damaged leaves, simply pinch them off. Pinching the stems of your plant will encourage additional growth, leading to a dense and bushy appearance with lots of flowers. Enjoy!
