I have recently(last month) planted 6 new Blue Spruce 8-10 ft and wonder how frequently they should be watered and fertilized. Can they be watered by sprinkler system or hand watered?

I would water by hand once a week. Most landscape trees and shrubs will be happy with about one inch of water per weed during the growing season. You might make watering basins beneath each tree. Fill the basins, allow to drain, then fill a second time. Watering in this way concentrates the water over the root system and allows it to trickle down and wet the entire root mass. Once a week should be all your trees need. You won't need to feed until next spring. At that time you can use an evergreen fertilizer such as an 8-8-8.

Best wishes with your new trees!
