White foamy spots on the azalea branches - Knowledgebase Question

I have about 22 Azalea plants in my yard some of which are over 25 years old. While clearing leaves from the trunk I found hundreds of white foamy dots on the branches. In 3 days time I found some of the branches have a mossy green mold on them. What do I do?

I think you are describing the symptoms of azalea leaf gall. Just to make sure, here's a website from Cornell with great photos:
