At my local Home Depot, I purchase about $50 worth of packaged Calidium bulbs, some seven to a package, others 15 to a package. All were planted three weeks ago and so far only about a dozen plants have broken through the mulch. Is this common to Calidiums or have I purchased dead bulbs?

Caladiums won't begin to sprout until the soil temperature is quite warm - Soil temperature needs to be at least 70 degrees. I would give the bulbs a little more time to sprout. If they don't sprout by the end of June, dig a few up and examine them. If there are no sprouts and no roots, they are dead and I'm sure you can get replacements for them. Let's hope they sprout soon!
