Earwigs feed on decaying organic matter so if you have some in your palm, it's not a good sign. It means things are dying within the crown of your palm. The white stuff could be fungus or a sign of mealybugs. In either case, it doesn't sound good for your palm. Try collecting some of the white stuff and take it to your local cooperative extension office for positive diagnosis. Once you know what you are dealing with, you might be able to control it. Helpful staff at the extension office can suggest controls.
