| Japanese plums tend to split if the weather is warm and it rains, or if the soil moisture is inconsistent (drought followed by flooding). You can't control the rain but you can adjust the watering schedule to make sure your tree doesn't experience dry and then saturated soils. You'll still have some split fruit - it's the nature of the tree, but those fruits that remain intact will be delicious! Enjoy. |
