Out of the blue our Mountain ash that we have had for at least 10 years at the tip of many of the branches the leaves start to wilt and then turn brown.Other spot on he tree seem to have new growth. Is the tree dying or does it have a disease or is it too much water?
Thanks for any insights.

Sounds like some damage from a late frost, since only the new growth appears to be affected. Overwatering or a disease of some sort would likely affect the entire tree. If you want to prune away the damage you can but I suspect the tree will overcome the problem and drop the affected branch tips all on its own. Just take a wait and see attitude. I think your tree will be just fine. Best wishes with your garden!
