|I bought 4 okra plants from a local nursery and planted them inground on April 14. They are growing well - about 5 ft tall now but I still do not see flowers nor fruits. I have been fertilizing with chicken manure and watering regularly. What am I not doing right? Please help!
|Okra plants can reach 4+ feet tall or be topped and grown shorter. If given room to branch out, they can spread 3 feet wide. They usually take 60 days to flower and set pods so I think yours should flower any time now. Don't give up on your plants - they just take a long time to start to flower and the growing conditions have to suit them. You can control the weather, so just be patient with your plant. Good luck with your garden!|
