|My 2 white poinsettias are more beautiful than ever (but missing the little yellow flowers). They have recently put on a lot of new growth. I have had them indoors since buying them in December.
I read the other poinsettia answers and am apprehensive about pinching them down to 4", etc. I wonder if I have waited too long to follow the procedures for saving them. They do appear to need larger pots. Also, they seem like they may get top heavy if I don't pinch something off the top. They have lost a few leaves at the bottom.
|You are not too late to do something with your poinsettias. You may pinch them back by 1/2 and repot the plants in a container that is one size larger than the one they are growing in. If the plants get leggy, you can tie a string around the branches to support them.
Keep them evenly moist and fertilize periodically. The flowers will return this fall or winter depending on the variety and its daylength requirement.
You must have a bright spot for them indoors since they are doing so well. Many people set them outside for summer where the light is better and they can flourish and grow.
Good luck with your plant!
