If the yellowing leaves are on the lower parts of the vines, it's perfectly normal. Annuals typically put their efforts into developing new leaves and flowers. When the lowest, oldest leaves have done their jobs, they turn yellow. You can pull them off the plant if you want. To avoid this bare stem look in your garden you can plant smaller annuals in front of the stems of your vining plants.
