|I live in MN and I was looking at Techny Arborvitae (thuja occidentalis) at one of your Home Depot stores. The info. tag said the average size is 8' T x 5' W. I thought Techny grow more to 15'. What is the correct height? Also, where does Home Depot grow or purchase their Techny from? I want to make sure they are grown in the midwest, so they are strong enough to survive our winters. Thanks!

|Thuja occidentalis 'Techny' will grow in full sun or part shade and under ideal growing conditions will reach a height of 12-15' and a width of 8-10'. For the most part, they grow about 8 feet by 5 feet under average landscape condtions. These plants are very hardy and become more dense as they mature. Nursery stock is almost always locally grown. The tag or container should have the grower's name on it and you can do a web search to find out where the nursery is located. Best wishes with your new arborvitaes.
