My pepper plants began to sport a blackish color where the stems branch out from the main stem. In addition one of the peppers have black streaks on them. This is the case for both my yellow pepper plant and my Fresno pepper. Any suggestions? Can I still eat them if they have black spots? |
What you describe is normal for pepper plants. There's nothing wrong and nothing you need to do. You'll notice the darkest areas where the stems branch out but you may also see the same black coloration on the cap of the pepper where it meets the stem. The streaks on the peppers themselves are also normal. It's just the way peppers grow under certain weather conditions. You can still harvest and enjoy your peppers. |
