I purchased an artichoke plant at a store. and I'm wondering how long it takes to mature?

Artichokes are perennial plants and normally develop buds in mid summer. The chokes are usually harvested in late August or early September, when the globes are 4-6" in diameter. I don't know how old your plant is and whether or not it will produce this year, but it will certainly produce next year for you. Enjoy!
