Although there are some fungal diseases associated with weigela, it isn't like that your plant has a disease. I think it is more likely that the plant is showing some transplant stress and that it will recover and perk up once the root system becomes established in your landscape. Give it a few weeks to establish and then you can cut it back to encourage healthy new growth. While you are waiting, water it deeply once or twice a week to keep the roots hydrated. When it perks up and you see some new growth, prune it back a little. Best wishes with your weigela!
