Ash trees are home to many insects. The most common are ash sawfly, ash borer and oystershell scale. Ash borer is the most serious because it can kill the tree.

There is no single treatment to take care of all these pests so until we know for sure what is attacking your ash tree, we can't really make any suggestions for control. If you don't know what the pest is, collect a few and take them to your local cooperative extension office or well staffed nursery for help with identification. You can then decide on the best control measure for your tree.
