I think what you are seeing are leaves that are changing color due to transplant stress. The young leaves are purplish but in the fall change to red, yellow or orange. Because your tree is stressed, it is beginning the process of dropping a few leaves. Once the root system becomes well established in your landscape, the tree will react normally to the weather, and later in the fall you will see the normal color change in the leaves. Just give your new tree some TLC with a deep watering once each week and it should adjust to its new growing spot in your garden. Good luck with your tree.
