Candy corn plant (Manettia luteorubra) can be trimmed down in late summer so you can take it indoors for the winter months. You don't need to trim the vines at an angle, cut cut it down so you can take the plant in without the trellis. It won't hurt the plant if you cut it down to 12-18 inches to take indoors. Enjoy your beautiful plant!
