|I would like to plant a small veggie garden. What does well in summer?|
|Florida has two gardening seasons: February through April and September through December or January. Not many veggies will grow well during the hot summer months. Lima beans and okra are exceptions and sometimes you can get patio tomatoes to grow and develop fruit if you give them morning sun and afternoon shade. If you wait until late August you can plant all kinds of veggies: leaf lettuces, radishes, peas, beans, etc. So, I'd vote for waiting. While you're waiting, here's a publication you can download. It lists the planting dates and the best varieties for your gardening region: http://edis.ifas.ufl.edu/VH021
