You didn't mention fertilizing so here's a suggestion - plants in containers should be fertilized lightly because their roots are so concentrated in a small space. So, start feeding your plants with a water soluable fertilizer at a half strength dilution. I use Miracle Gro or Peter's houseplant ferilizer, mixing one tablespoon into a gallon of water and use this to feed my outdoor containerized plants every 2-3 weeks.
