2 questions: is this variety of hibiscus deer resistant? How much sun can this variety tolerate - if not deer resistant, a large bed in back (fenced) yard might work - but west facing...

Hibiscus rosa-sinensis is considered deer resistant. It will take full sunshine and will flower best with lots of sun but will tolerate morning shade and afternoon sunshine. The deer should not bother the plant. Good luck with your garden.
