I recently purchased a Assorted Bougainvillea from Home Depot. I followed the instructions and planted the plant. Since then, the plant has started to loose it flowers. I planted the plant in half sun half shade area and water it every other day. Is it normal for it to loose its flowers after being planted in the ground?

It is normal for newly planted landscape trees and shrubs to go through a period of adjustment. During this stressful period plants can lose leaves and otherwise look puny. After a few weeks they usually perk up and at that time you can prune away the bare stems to encourage healthy new growth. Bougainvilleas like moist soil, but watering every other day is excessive. Instead, water twice a week, applying water slowly so it trickles down and wets the entire root mass. This encourages deep rooting and will help keep your bougainvillea growing well even in hot weather. I think your plant will be just fine once the roots establish themselves in your landscape. Best wishes with your bougainvillea!
