| I planted dozens of ranuculas and anenomes and they are just finishing blooming. To prolong bulb life what is the best thing to do now. Do I cut back old flower stems? Do I continue to water? The leaves are all green but laying low to the ground... Help please |
| Cut off the spent flower stems but leave the foliage alone. As long as it is green it is manufacturing and transporting carbohydrates back to the bulbs. When the foliage turns brown you can remove it at ground level. After resting your bulbs will sprout again. Continue to water as long as the foliage is green. Once it turns yellow you can stop watering. Best wishes with your garden. |
