What to feed my gardenia? - Knowledgebase Question

I have a potted gardenia that I keep outside in Brooklyn, NY. It was a gift and when I received it, it had three flowers. Since then it has not flowered and has no buds. What Home Depot fertilizer can I feed it during these summer months? I checked out the shelves in my HD on Cropsey Ave. and found nothing that said to use for gardenias. Thanks for any help you can give me.

Use a fertilizer that is formulated for acid-loving, blooming plants, such as an azalea-type product, according to rates listed on the label. Don?t be afraid to prune the gardenia; in fact, blooming will be more prolific on younger growth if you prune your gardenia back by a few inches. Good luck with your gardenia!
