How often should you fertilize house plants and potted plants in outside containers |
Plants in containers usually need to be fed more frequently than the same plants in the ground, but they can be easily burned if you feed too often. So, I use a water soluable fertilizer such as Miracle Gro, Peter's, Shultz's or Kellogg's and dilute it to half strength, then feed every 2-3 weeks during the spring and summer months when the plants are actively growing. I use one tablespoon of ferilizer per gallon of water and get good results with my containerized plants, both indoors and out. |
