Could you please tell me what kind(s) of vines could grow over an arbor in mostly shade, little sun? What could I grow from seed that would be flowery over the arbor? |
There are very few flowering vines that will grow well in shady conditions and that can be started from seed. Some sweetpeas will grow under these conditions, as will Scarlet runner beans, and Asarina, the climbing snapdragon. If you purchase plants, you can grow both grape and kiwi, although they probably won't set fruit, or Trumpet vine, Clematis, or Cape Honeysuckle. Check out these plants at your local nursery and see if they're right for your landscape. |
