I have about 9 square feet of area in which I would like to plant veggies for late summer and fall harvesting. The area gets full afternoon sun. What do you suggest?

Tomatoes and peppers can be planted in mid-July in your area for harvest prior to frost. In August, consider a bush type cucumber or bush type squash. Another idea is to place a trellis on the north side of the area and grow a vining cucumber up the trellis. A tomato cage works great for this also.

In early to mid September, broccoli, kohlrabi, Chinese cabbage and parsley can be planted. Wait until late October for carrots, spinach and lettuce.

Good luck with your fall garden!
