Bought a Hibiscus tree & planted it within a week (it came with a wooden stake),planted the stake in, followed directions for planting this plnt, spread roots & put in a larger planter & it is drooping. Fertilizied it with Osmocote,a customer at Home Depot recommended. Been checking it for water, it was dry today, just got home so will water, any other suggestions? Thank You!
|Newly planted landscape trees, shrubs and perennials often go through an adjustment period and while they are getting their roots established can wilt or droop. It's nothing to be concerned about. They adjust and recover in a few weeks. Summer is especially difficult for new plants because the weather is hot and the sun intense. I think your hibiscus will recover, just give it a little more time. Water deeply when the top of the soil dries out and be patient. It will become established and develop new growth. When that happens you can prune away any dead or withered stems and leaves. Good luck with your new plant!|
