I have a space beside my house about 2 feet wide and about 20 feet long. It gets no sun and used to have ivy from my neighbor, but they cut it down. What can I plant here that will be low maintenance and require no sun?

You might discover, in time, that the ivy (Hedera helix) is creeping back. If you liked that look, you could simply plant some ivy of your own! In a spot like that a non-climbing evergreen ground cover such as pachysandra would be appropriate, or for more variety and color you might consider planting hosta. Hosta is not evergreen, but there are many different sizes and colors to select from, with foliage ranging from chartreuse to green to blue to variegated. As an added bonus, some are even fragrant when in bloom. These are all low-maintenance plants once they are established, although in my experience the pachysandra requires the least attention of all. Good luck with your replanting!
