What animal is eating the flower's and bub's off of my garden lilies? |
All kinds of critters find lily flowers and buds tasty. Deer, raccoons, squirrels, etc. There's not much you can do to keep your lilies safe other than to cage them in. You might try placing thorny branches on the ground around the plants. Rose canes might keep animals from getting close to your lilies. Or try stringing nylon fishing line between stakes you pound in the ground. Criss cross the line every 6-8 inches and keep the line about 6 inches above the soil. Small animals won't want to walk through the line for fear of getting their legs caught. Hope this helps. |
