what to use on bagworms now when active and a preventative to stop the eggs from hatching next year. (some kind of oil-and where applied- plant or ground) thx- Ray

In your area of Illinois you can use Bacillus thuringiensis kurstaki (Dipel, Thuricide) to control bagworm crawlers now. Early next spring, spray with Spinosad (Conserve), cyfluthrin (Tempo), permethrin (Astro), bifenthrin (Onyx, Talstar), or other pyrethroids to provide effective control of the eggs.
