Bougainvilleas bloom on about a 6 week cycle and they do best in soils on the dry side and little to no fertilizer. If you feed too often or too much you'll get lots of foliage but at the expense of flowers. The usual cycle is the plant grows, flowers, rests and then grows again. To promote flowering, prune your bougainvillea back - which will encourage new growth. Hold off on fertilizer and water only when the plant just begins to droop. This will stress the roots enough to produce flowers. Hope this works for you!
