I have a pencil plant on my front portch that gets average sun and a little water everyday. It is dying or has died. I want to save it if I can. What do you suggest?

Pencil plants will thrive in hot sunny locations and get by with very little water. I suspect you are overwatering your plant. Instead of giving it a little water every day, try watering thoroughly and then waiting until the top of the soil dries out before watering again. This will force the roots to grow deeply, which will reduce it's need for daily watering. Good luck with your plant!
