I have two flowering cherry trees. They are planted 35 ft from each other. One thrives while the other goes dormant and loses it's leaves. I here this is normal because one tree is dominant. Is this true. Will the other tree flower again after a season or two?

Most ornamental cherry trees flower in March, April and May. There's an exception -Prunus subhirtella 'Autumnalis' flowers in December. I don't know which cultivars you are growing so I can't really tell if the behavior of your tree is normal. As long as both trees look healthy and are growing, it's probably normal for the variety that you are growing.
