I have seen a chartreuse leafy plant used in beds in the south. I am told it is alternanthera, but cannot confirm this. Can you tell me what it may be? |
Alternanthera typically has multicolored leaves (Calico Plant, Joseph's Coat) so I'm not sure that's the plant you're looking for. Perhaps it is another plant? Golden sweet potato vine has heart shaped chartreuse leaves; The green variety of the annual love-lies-bleeding (Amaranthus viridflora) is a show stopper. Its long tassels of tiny chartreuse flowers are like no other. The plant is quite large and course but the tassels of great assets in the garden, and in arrangements. Hope one of these plants is the one in question! |
