I purchased a house where no one had lived for three years so as you can imagine the lawn is pretty dead. Can I bring it back with water and fertilizer or is it best to lay new sod? |
You might be surprised to discover your lawn can recover when watered and mowed frequently. I'd give it a try. If all you get are weeds, go ahead and replace the lawn this fall. If the grass comes back, you'll save yourself a lot of labor. You won't know unless you try. Provide about one inch of water per week to the lawn (you can apply water twice a week for a grand total of one inch per week) Hope it comes back strong and green! |
