INDOOR PLANT - Knowledgebase Question

I'am planning to put plants in my home have 3 boys a 1 year old,6 & 8 year old wich plants would be good? I already have two areca palms is that a safe one? I also have one Dieffenbachia. I also would like to put more in my home and need help on how to care for them.

You can start with some really sturdy plants such as cast iron plant and ivy. Both are easy to grow.
