want to plant an evergreen upright shrub to obscure the underside of our house along side our deck with a height ranging from 4' to 8'. Nothing bushy nor boxy. Any ideas? We are in zone 6-7

Nandina (heavenly bamboo) is a good choice for the area, as are Skyrocket Juniper which is extremely narrow and upright, or Pyramidal Japanese Yew with shiny dark green foliage. Best wishes with your landscape.
