I have hostas' some in some sun and some in shade that I tranplanted this year. Some of he leaves have some brown on them - almost like being burned. Do I need to water more? Is it too sunny (about 3hours of sun)?

Although there are some exceptions, most hostas are shade loving plants. Unless yours are specifically identified as sun-lovers, I'd move them to a shadier spot. Bright shade is okay but direct sunshine can burn the leaves.
