If you remove the flower stalks from your daylilies they should send up more flower stalks all summer long. The larger the clump, the more flowers you can expect. After your crape myrtles have finished blooming, prune them back and they should bloom again. I'm not sure why one of your crape myrtles has developed flower buds but not flowers. You may have to be a little more patient with the plant. When the environmental conditions are just right for that particular plant, it will open the flowers. Until then, continue to give it TLC. Good luck with your landscape!
