|I received 2 plumeria but was given no instructions on how to plant them. They are growing from one end and it looks like leaves, not roots. The stalk is not firm and the bottom looks like it is sealed over. How do I plant it and in what size pot? (the stalk is about 8-10 inches long.) I checked the plant library but did not find the specific answers.|
Thank you very much.
|Set your plumeria cuttings in a 6-8" deep container filled with moist potting soil or perlite. You should see several nodes or leaf scars along the length of the cutting. When you set the cuttings into the soil, make sure at least 2 leaf scars are below the soil surface. This is where roots will form. Keep the leafy side up and the waxed side down when you plant. Plumeria cuttings need at least 90 days of warm temperatures before they will develop roots and new top growth so keep the soil moist but not soggy wet and be patient with them. Eventually they will grow. Enjoy!|
