Pythium, Rhizoctonia, and Botrytis are the most common diseases encountered with Pentas and all have to do with warm humid weather and/or poor soil drainage. If you've been growing pentas in the same bed for 10 years, the soil may be harboring disease pathogens. I can only suggest you move your pentas to a new bed next season or you grow them in containers until you can have your soil tested and treated. Your local cooperative extension office can offer some help in both regards. Best wishes with your pentas!
